not long into the sunrise, and before the sun has left the horizon behind, thundering is heard coming down the canyon path. up ahead are gaunts, loads of Hormagaunts with Termagaunts in the mix, all lead by Warriors as they charge down the path. Genestealers from the night before accompany the Horde in their charge

In the Distance, Biovores start lining up and fire into the Canyon, their aim guided by the Hive Mind. the barrage hits the camp/settlement before the Horde can crash into the first line of defense

the knights are out ahead of the front line
three of them
an errant, a paladin and a castigator

between them they are tearing great swathes through the tyranid lines, tyranid fire glancing harmlessly off their shields, preventing them from closing with the front lines

the horde for the most part are rushing past the knights in front (if any) straight for the trenches and whoever's in between and behind. the biovore fire sometimes hit's the canyon side and disrupts some rocks, sending them crashing down the side

however the knights' kill count is so great, the tyranids cannot even reach melee range of them, let alone run past them

At the canyon, the Blood angels forge a wall of pure firepower, the trench offering plentiful cover as bolter rounds churn through the tyranid infantry.
Slowly, their weapons empty from the relentless fire.

as the Horde pushes inward Genestealers cling to the Knights' (or Knight's) legs and start climbing. the Biovores with Bio-Acid Mines focus their fire on the Knights, while the Bio-Toxin Biovores focus on the trenches

Ooc: I have a few ways.

1) genestealer jumps down from canyon.
2) knights get preoccupied with the acid creatures bombarding them.
3)  genestealers played dead from the night before, sneaking up to surprise attack.
4) genestealers infiltrate up, sneaking up with supreme stealth.
5) too many too shoot.
